Rupert joined the Hong Kong Jockey Club in April 2004, working extensively on the trading floor prior to taking the fixed odds sports betting leadership role in 2014. During his time in Hong Kong, HKJC has developed from a soccer betting startup to one of the biggest sportsbooks in the world, capturing two-thirds of local market share. He has experienced gambling culture throughout East Asia, operates on the doorstep of the grey market there, has appeared as an expert witness in two match-fixing cases and is currently Vice President of the lotteries’ integrity body GLMS. Prior to joining HKJC, he spent six years at William Hill in the UK.
